Google NotebookLM

Research notes that stay tied to your sources

Google NotebookLM is a productivity app for students, researchers, writers and anyone working through a large set of documents. Add material such as PDFs, websites, YouTube links or text, then use the app to ask questions, produce summaries and explore connections within that collection. Its answers are based on the sources you provide, rather than treated as a general-purpose web search.

Useful ways to work with information

The app brings several research tasks into one workspace. You can compare ideas across documents, locate relevant details and ask follow-up questions in a conversational format. Inline citations help you check where an answer comes from, which is useful when reviewing study material, preparing a brief or checking notes before writing.

Listen as well as read

NotebookLM can turn source material into Audio Overviews presented as a discussion between AI hosts. This gives you another way to review a topic when reading is inconvenient, while the interactive format lets you steer attention toward areas that matter to you. The mobile experience also makes it easier to move between your source collection and generated insights.
