Google Assistant

Voice help for everyday tasks

Google Assistant is a productivity app for people who want to handle common phone tasks by voice. You can ask questions, search for information, open apps, place calls, send messages, create reminders and add items to lists without moving through several menus. It suits Android users who often multitask, need hands-free control or prefer speaking to typing.

Useful across your phone and home

The app can connect spoken requests with other Google services and supported features on your device. It can help manage calendar-related tasks, provide directions, check information and control compatible smart-home equipment such as lights or thermostats. The exact actions available depend on your phone, account settings and the services or devices connected to it.

Simple interface, broad reach

Google Assistant usually stays out of the way until you call on it, then presents responses, suggestions or controls on screen. Voice input is its main focus, while text interaction can be useful when speaking is inconvenient. Because it works across many Google products and Android devices, it is a practical choice for users already relying on Google Search, Calendar, Maps or other services.
