Google Earth

Explore the World from Your Phone

Google Earth is a global exploration app for travelers, students, educators, and anyone who wants to examine places beyond a standard map view. It lets you move from a worldwide perspective to individual cities, neighborhoods, coastlines, landmarks, and remote areas using satellite imagery and detailed geographic views.

Maps with Depth and Context

The app goes beyond flat navigation by showing selected locations with 3D terrain and buildings. You can tilt, rotate, and zoom the globe to better understand the shape of mountains, city layouts, and notable sites. Street View integration adds ground-level, 360-degree views where coverage is available, making it useful for previewing destinations or revisiting familiar places.

• Satellite imagery: Inspect landscapes, cities, islands, and other locations from above.
• 3D views: See terrain and urban areas with added height and perspective.
• Street View: Look around streets and landmarks through panoramic imagery.
• Guided content: Browse curated tours and location-based stories for additional context.

Useful for Learning and Planning

Google Earth suits casual discovery as well as classroom and research use. It can help users understand geography visually, compare different environments, and get a better sense of a destination before a trip. The focus is on exploration rather than turn-by-turn directions, so it works best alongside a dedicated navigation app when route guidance is needed.
